Yes, my aunt has it and has lived with it for years. She does have bad days when she is tired and doesn’t feel well, but for the most part she lives pretty normally.

Yes … as a result of exposure to chemicals in the military service. It is an MS-like condition; one VA doc says yes, another says no but all agree on many similarities to MS.

If you are trying to do a fund raiser, get the media involved. Talk to your local radio stations and have one of them show up at your event .. have TV stations cover it. Post it on bulletin boards at local hospitals, including the local Veterans Hospital. Don’t forget the local MS society….they can help with ideas. Most folks will be happy to help .. they just need to be made aware of your fund raising!

Unfortunately, my son was diagnosed with relapsing MS when he was 19 years old. He woke up one morning and had lost his vision completely. The problem was, he was 600 miles away from me at the time. He was flown to the best Neurologist I have ever heard of in Houston at the Medical Center. His name is Dr. George Hutton and he one of the very best. Luckily, his vision returned but not to where it was. Anyway, it has been almost 4 years now and my son takes weekly injections of Avonex. Some days are great ones and some days are he**. I would give anything to trade lives with him. To be so young and to have this incurable disease is devastating! I so want him to live a normal life and live to be an old man!!!! He lives like each day to the fullest! He knows that it does no good to sit and worry about it. He follows his doctors instructions to the letter and he will continue to do so. He has been in the hospital 5 times with “attacks” which usually last about 7 days, before the IV steroids work their magic! He knows there is a possibility that he can outlive this disease. We pray every day that he will. God Bless all who live with this horrible and devastating disease. We will continue to pray for a cure!
